1.1 Contribution

In this paper, we will present initial work that addresses two of the numerous challenges of Emergent Business Software. First, we address trust-based service selection, in particular the integration of external indicators of trustworthiness and of supervised methods for trustworthiness assessment. In order to achieve this, a mapping from supervised estimator output to a trust-oriented belief logic representation is presented.

Furthermore, we introduce secure data aggregation protocols for wireless sensor networks within the scope of Emergent scenarios. Secure data aggregation protocols aim at reducing the amount of data transmissions within the network while ensuring security goals, such as confidentiality and integrity.
